"You are not good enough". We almost hear that daily. Today’s society, along with the Internet and mainstream media, has precise ideas and ideals of today's men and women.
And most people come along .
You are not beautiful enough. You do not dress fashionably enough. You are not thin enough. Your work is not good enough. You make too little money. You do not do enough for your health.
We compare ourselves with our role models, with celebrities and even with friends on social media.
"Anna has this great new jacket. I need that too! " or "My Iphone7 is too old for me, I want the latest model to make a better appearance».
But where does this behavior lead us?
Do we really feel happier when we follow the latest trends? Does it make us stronger when we upload a selfie of our well-toned body? Shouldn’t we listen more to our own desires and needs and not copy other’s?
Shouldn’t we listen to our own voice instead of society’s?
Wouldn’t we be so much happier, healthier and more perfect?
I challenge myself to do so every day. But I must confess that it is anything but easy, especially in today's age ...
"Never right. Never. Have you ever had that feeling that you were not good enough? That you do something wrong and you can't make it right? And that you'll never do it right no matter how much you try? If you have, let it go. Let that feeling go. Let those people go that make you feel like that. Because you are you. You are a wonderful creature that makes a lot of things right! Don't let anyone, including yourself, tell you otherwise! Nobody is always right! Nobody!" (A quote of mine on my Instagram)
