Lisbon (e)-Lisboa (p)-Lissabon (de)

Saudade. The Portuguese word for an ache, missing someone or something. Saudade, of Lisbon. A city so beautiful and original you have visited once, it will never let you go. You know you have to come back.

Fado, the history, the art,the people and the food awaits you all over again. You need to see more, take in more. Everything so colorful, so charming, so welcoming. Walking through streets, admiring every detail, mesmerizing and beautiful. The sun shining and the sea whispering. Saudade.

What I loved:

- There are countless viewpoints that offer amazing views over the city. Sear for "miradouros" and you'll find some great spots.

- Visit the Castelo de São Jorge. The entrance fee is worth it. It offers great insights into this big castle and probably the best view over the city.

- Drive over the two famous bridges. The 25 de Abril Bridge reminds you of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Frabcisco and is situated west, whereas the Vasco da Gama Bridge is east and is impressively long.

- Visit the "Christ the King" Monument in Almada, it offers you once again a beautiful view over the city and the 25 de Abril Bridge.

- At night, visit the Bairro Alto. The perfect place to have some drinks and celebrate some great parties.

- Take a stroll through the old part of the city ( the "Baixa") and do some shopping and dining.

- Take the Santa Justa Lift and get another impressive view over the old part of Lisbon.

- Visit some Museums like: The national Azulejo Museum, the Art museum, museum of Fado, the cable car museum etc.

- Last but not least, there are the famous Pasteis de Nata (and of course, lots of other great food), which everyone loves. Try them!
