Grand Cayman- Cayman Islands

This tiny 20 by 7 miles Island is a real Caribbean paradise.

It's known for beautiful white palm beaches and, you might know it already, for tax evasion. You don’t pay any taxes on this island which makes it especially interesting for rich people.

But don’t worry, there are lots of people just like you and me. Because why would you want to miss out on that island?

Famous for its 7mile beach with that typical Caribbean white sand and crystal clear water, you have to take a swim in the warm sea. After, stroll along the beach, have a cocktail in a beach bar and do some shopping, which is relatively affordable because there are no taxes added.

We went on a Jeep tour, learned a bit about the island, stopped in beautiful beaches and had a quick look at nature in the national park of Grand Cayman. Unfortunately we could not spot any iguana, which are known for this island.

Anyways, we continued our journey to hell. Yes, there's hell on this paradise like island. You can even send a postcard from the post office located in hell.

Don't worry, it's not actually hell. But the short, black limestone rock formation looks bizarre, a little bit like hell. The stones were former coral reefs and that's why they look that way.

Why they named this place "hell" is unclear. Some say it's just because people exclaimed "this is what hell must look like" when they saw the rocks. Others say it's because of the sound it makes when you throw a pebble into the rock formation.

Regardless, you might imagine that it is quite the tourist attraction. The guides greet you with "How the hell are you?" and "Where the hell are you from?".

Finally, we "got the hell out of there" and went back towards the ocean.

Also very famous are the stingrays on this island. If you’re brave enough you can even swim with them.

This paradise like Island with stunning beaches is totally worth it, eventhough it’s small it's relaxing and has quite a lot to offer.

I definitely want to come back one day and be brave enough to encounter those stingrays. I could feed and touch them already in Miami, but swimming with them must be a whole other experience!
