After Prague we headed to Bratislava, the small sister of Prague, since the Czech Republic and Slovakia were one country until December 1992.
Arriving there, we entered a completely different city to the one seen before: Small, yet charming, intriguing and welcoming. We didn’t know what to expect, knowing so little about Slovakia’s capital. But we immediately fell in love with its charm: A beautiful small and old town, much fewer people than seen in Prague and no tourists in comparison to where we came from.
The old town can be discovered on foot: Cross it in a few minutes, walk towards the castle on top of the hill right next to the city. The view up there is just as breathtaking as the castle and its gardens.
At night, after enjoying a local, tasty meal, we walk towards the so-called UFO bridge (in the pictures you can see why) which has a platform with an observation deck on top. The view over the city lights is spectacular. After having enjoyed that view, we go to the bar of that UFO restaurant.
Drinking a tasty cocktail and reflecting on what we’ve seen today: What a day well spent! Bratislava, your welcoming, friendly and wonderful charm totally got us!
